I recently learned about this amazing non-contact boxing program that is helping to combat Parkinson’s symptoms. Approximately one million Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease a neurodegenerative disorder that robs people of the ability to perform simple activities, like walking, talking, and typing.
Rock Steady Boxing is a high intensity workout that targets areas that Parkinson’s affects, such as balance, big movements and posture. Rock Steady is a national program, and they have classes at North Kansas City Hospital. It costs $35 per month per person. Always make sure to consult with your doctors first before starting any exercise program. You can also register for an assessment to qualify for the class at nkch.org/RockSteady or by calling 816-691-5020.
Check out the videos below to learn about some of the amazing results people fighting Parkinson’s have had after Rock Steady.
